There’s plenty to do in Winthrop any time of year. We are nestled at the edge of a predestine national forest with plenty to do.

Where to Stay

Some of our favorite places to stay are the Chewuch Inn, River’s Edge Resort, Hotel Rio Vista, Mt. Gardner Inn, North Cascade Mountain Hostel, and Spring Creek Ranch… all within walking distance to the pub. Central Reservations can also help to find you the perfect place. The KOA Campground is right on the river a couple miles down the highway. The Pine Near RV Park also has space for RVs and tent camping and is within walking distance to the pub!

What to Do

When planning your next trip to Old Schoolhouse Brewery we recommend that you check out Methow Trails’ website for details on winter/summer trail activities. The calendar page above has lots of ideas, as does the Winthrop Washington website. OSB has live music all year long so take a look at our music schedule for details. Methow Arts and the The Merc Playhouse offer lots of great shows and events at various locations around the valley. The Winthrop Chamber has a good list of seasonal activities including street fairs, rodeos, races, concerts, and holiday celebrations. Methownet.com also offers good connections to local recreation. Finally, we suggest that you take a look at TwispWorks in Twisp, WA. This organization is an amazing campus that offers shops and live music among many other events.

Where to Go

For the most delicious baked goods and coffee, Winthrop has options. Either stop by Kind Grinds, or Rockinghorse Bakery on the boardwalk in Winthrop. Lost River Winery makes incredible award-winning wines, which we also serve at the pub! They have a tasting room in Winthrop just past the Barn on Hwy 20. For amazing gourmet chocolate selection, Winthrop Motors is the secret spot. The Winthrop Gallery showcases our talented local artists. Local gift shops like Aspen Grove and the Courtyard Quail are fun for shopping. The Trails End Bookstore has a broad selection and showcases Northwest authors. The Winthrop Chamber site has good ideas too.
